The rate at which most people "get lucky" or catch a " big break" is higher than one should expect, considering our awe of those moments. In my life, there are many situations or events in which I feel I got super lucky. How can this be? Are there loads of mediocre outcomes overwhelming a few exceedingly superior ones that we occasionally achieve? I don't think so. More likely, there are plenty of exceptional options we don't even know about because, in a complex world, the discovery process is a challenge. Of everything there is to experience, each person will sample a tiny proportion of them. Your dream job is likely one of many, and it might not even be the best. In a market-oriented, developed nation, there is one profound way we are lucky - the opportunities are all around us - try some.
