Throughout a person's life, if they are like the average human, they'll imbibe the beliefs around them before they even know to question. Finding themselves within powerful institutions or with a following, do they reflect on the arguments that got them there? If they do and realise their stupidity, do they swear against their previously incorrect views? Most likely not. You'd be well served to bet they'll zealously defend the policies they've loved and served them. Politicians won't search for the truth. They probably won't even make much of an effort to fight for their stance. In reality, they'll push popular lies to the unquestioning masses.
