What Explains the Man-babies and the Incels?
Other than the awesomeness of video-games and streaming services.
It's interesting to note how, as men earned more money in the traditionally male-dominated labour market, they could afford to spend more on attracting women. This created an arms race, where men had to be more attentive to their wives to compete and attract the best partners.
However, now women earn money themselves, and the men who could previously attract them by working harder are no longer as appealing. Women could focus on the non-pecuniary traits, and the men who failed to live up to those standards lost a way of appealing to them. This might be behind a small contingent of men who swore off trying to partner up, and no white act like children. Meanwhile, the more desirable men probably have to work less hard because of the reduced competition.
